Music:

I like a wide variety of genres, but I very very much like DnB, Hip-Hop, Rap, and R&B, Jazz, Samba, and Hard and Alternative Rock. I guess just in general I like music that's vivid and expressive either through lyricism or composition. Feel free to judge my music tastes even more on my Bandcamp!

I didn't grow up in a particularly musical environment and I don't know any theory outside of reading a niche clef, but I have grown a deep appreciation for music as an art medium over the years, and I love talking about to the best of my abilities!

I have to thank video game music and online animation communities for introducing me to music outside of radio pop that really engaged me, which is why I think I focus so much on expressiveness. Since 2016 I've been downloading those songs I liked off Youtube, building a sizable digital collection of a about 2100 songs.

Recently making a Bandcamp account too has helped me support the artists I like while further working on my digital horde, and its brought me to starting a physical one! As of right now I only have 12 records and 8 CDs, but I'm always adding to it through Bandcamp and whatever music stores around I can find.

Current Fave:

TV, Movies, & Web-Series:

Film and Animation is my art medium of choice, and though I try to watch a good variety of stuff, I am of course still biased towards a lot of kid's animation due to my fondness for cartoons. I'm also terrible at watching through TV shows sadly!

Disney Movies and Looney Tunes collection DVDs made up my media diet as a kid, and though I watched some public access shows, I never got much into anything serious or plot-driven until I watched Steven Universe in 2015. I partially blame this for my problems paying attention to shows, but I have been trying to catch up with some darlings of Prestige TV and 2010s kids TVA.

As I've said a thousand times on this site, cartoons and silly things mean the world to me, but I do genuinely have an incredibly appreciation for everything film, I just find the levels of stylization found in animations - those banal, and high-concept - to be more engaging on average. Live-action films with distinct visuals or just crazy interesting stories to tell still absolutely catch my eye though.

I actually tend to watch a lot of old live-action films on a whim, likely due to my fascination with mid-century media related to my beloved Golden Age Cartoons, but don't take that as a snob flex - a lot of those are ass.

Current Fave:

Video Games:

Video Games are an incredible medium for both dumb fun and deeply engrossing narratives, and my faves span both ends for reasons of merit and nostalgia. But no matter what, I love and defend these games with my whole heart!

My humble beginnings as a gamer started during the DSi and Wii days. For my 7th birthday I asked my parents for an Xbox 360 SOLEY so I could play Kinectimals, but luckily in their ignorance they got me the original waggle tech machine - a Nintendo Wii! I wake up everyday thankful for this, as I feel Nintendo games have played an irreplaceable role in my development as a cartoonist.

For years my brain was rattling around nothing but Minecraft, Let's Play Youtube darlings, and WiiU shovelware, but after having my brain rewired by Splatoon in 2015, I became more developed in my tastes and understanding of the gaming landscape. I watched E3's of yore and began to comprehend how limited I was by my sad little console and even Nintendo as a publisher was, but I still never regretted them being my home base then and now.

Recently I've more fully broken into non-Nintendo stuff, falling in love with a few RPGs and story-driven classics. Especially those from the early 2000s due to the creativity of their visuals compared to some modern "serious" games - its like my issue with live-action films again. Now I'm a bit of a aspiring collector for the era with a Dreamcast and PS2 beside my poor WiiU and its successor.

Characters:

This is more of a bonus topic since my characters don't relate to one specific interest, but you should know about them. You can find that pretty much all of em are from eclectic list of stuff above, but if you can find a pattern between these characters I'll give you a cookie. The closest I've got is a venn-diagram of characters between 'Silly-Billies' and 'Severely Mentally Ill' with a concerning amount of overlap.
